On Wednesday, October 19, a second guest lecture by emeritus professor Jaap de Zwaan from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam was held at Faculty of Economics, University of Montenegro.

Professor de Zwaan gave a lecture to students of master program from the Faculty of Economics and Faculty of Law, while students of undergraduate programs from University of Montenegro and University Donja Gorica participated in the lecture online, via Zoom platform.

During the lecture, titled “Challenges ahead for the European Union: Security, Enlargement and the Future Conference”, prof. de Zwaan gave a brief overview of the EU and its member states, achievements and shortcomings, while also highlighting the challenges that lie ahead.

As enlargement is of particular interest to Montenegrin students, a part of the lecture was dedicated to requirements and conditions, absorption capacity of the EU, as well as potential cooperation in different areas.

Over 50 students from the Faculty of Economics and Faculty of Law took part in the lecture, and over 60 were online. The lecture ended with some questions from the students and discussion.
