2022 Roussette de Savoie, Aubeterre, Domaine du GringetAltesse is the better known grape variety of the Savoie than Gringet and is the majority of what is produced in the region. With vines planted by Dominique Belluard himself in the 1990s, the Aubeterre lieu dit lies on the other side of the road to La Paille and is an expression of Altesse at its best. It has a golden colour with concentrated aromas reminiscent of lemon muffins and custard Danish. The palate is richly textured with a smooth quality

The wine is drinking well now and will do over the next decade or so

Proving to be yet another stellar bottling from the Cayuse team

On the palate the wine has a gentle creamy entry and shows racy acidity

some open for several days and some opened for my benefit

yet it was not really singing

Timid at first

graceful and lifted

tannin and perfectly judged acidity
