Frank Schimmelfennig is Professor of European Politics and a member of the Centre for Comparative and International Studies at ETH Zurich. He is also an Associate of the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies at the European University Institute, Chairman of the Scientific Board of the Institut für Europäische Politik Berlin and a member of the Board of the Trans-European Policy Studies Association (TEPSA).
His research focuses on European integration and, more specifically, integration theory, EU enlargement and Europeanization, differentiated integration, democracy promotion and democratization.

By the interaction of local and EU-based professors in every proposed course throughout the project, this will result in raising both the attractiveness and excellence of our courses on EU topics, as well as increasing the internationalization of teaching and research, and thus bring innovation and knowledge transfer to the current coursesThe Centre of Excellence at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Montenegro will ensure synergy among academics in Montenegro but also with professors from EU-based universities (via TEPSA), in relation to both teaching and research.
